About Holy Name Catholic Church

HolyName

Guided by the Holy Spirit, we celebrate the presence of Jesus Christ in prayer, liturgy, religious education, scripture, and in our daily lives.

Being involved in an active church is pleasing to God. One of the reasons we need to be part of a church is so that we can have accountability to one to another. The Bible says that it is not good to walk alone, but that “a threefold cord is not quickly broken”. Fellowship is necessary for the spiritual health of a Christian.

At Holy Name, we as a church are committed to the person of Jesus Christ, and we base our teaching upon God’s revealed word, the Bible. It is our desire that people come to place their trust in Christ to forgive and lead them, and that they grow in their relationship with Him.

“Glorious name, gracious name, name of love and of power! Through you sins are forgiven…” – St. Bernardine of Siena

The purpose of Holy Name Faith Community is to be a welcoming community of diverse people growing in Christian faith and love, nurturing spiritual growth through the liturgy, and living out the gospel through service and evangelization.

Holy Name of Jesus

We give honour to the Name of Jesus, not because we believe that there is any intrinsic power hidden in the letters composing it, but because the Name of Jesus reminds us of all the blessings we receive through our Holy Redeemer. To give thanks for these blessings we revere the Holy Name, as we honour the Passion of Christ by honouring His Cross
